Job description
The Inventory and Distribution Specialist will be working in a dual role. This individual will need to be able to:
- Provide exceptional customer service to our clients and must be able to multi-task while providing a high level of attention to detail. Excellent communication skills are essential in this position.
- Demonstrate logistics knowledge and will be responsible for managing client inventory and coordinating inbound and outbound deliveries.
Applicants must be able to maintain a clean and safe driving record, and other training credentials, as necessary, and is expected to work and travel between Chesapeake and Virginia Beach on a daily basis.

Essential functions

- Coordinates daily services with clients; sorts packages by zip code and distributes to appropriate certified couriers.
- Will drive or ride in a Company Vehicle to pick up packages and bring back for sorting at our warehouse.
- Ensures couriers follow proper scanning procedures and that all pickups are accurately accounted for.
- Communicates with clients via daily emails and calls; responds with status and or time of completion updates; ensures all client requests are completed promptly.
- Receives merchandise and ensures all parts are placed in designated locations by client.
- Maintains orderly storage of materials and products and ensures assigned inventory locations are accurate.
- Maintains inventory accuracy and performs both cycle and physical inventory counts.
- Pulls parts and processes labels for shipping. At times this will involve palletizing and wrapping products.
- Operates computer terminal to input, manipulate, organize, and retrieve data; organizes and maintain file systems, both paper and electronic.
- Assists dispatch when needed.
- Follows established safety policies and procedures while performing all duties.
- Maintains a clean and safe driving record.
- Other duties as assigned.
Competencies
- Must have strong communication and customer service skills and be comfortable interacting with customers over the phone.
- Ability to listen, talk, and type while processing client orders and requests.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Must possess basic knowledge of computer system and be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be dependable and reliable; good attendance is critical in this position.
Required education and experience
- High school/GED education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to be trained on, and operate, pallet jacks, personal lift assists, etc.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record and must have reliable transportation to commute between Chesapeake and Virginia Beach on a daily basis.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $15.00 -$19.00 per hour
